Welcome from the Head of School

For over 70 years The British School Caracas has proudly served the local expatriate community here in Venezuela’s capital city.  While we have our roots in Venezuelan and British culture, and our outreach programmes seek to support the local community, we are a school that faces ‘outward’ and aims to ensure that the students in our care understand their role and are prepared to take their positions – often leadership ones – as citizens of the world.

The TBSC journey begins in pre-school and culminates in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Years 12 and 13. Throughout their time with us – and no matter where a student begins their TBSC journey –  we aim to ensure that everyone develops their individual strengths (as well as develop new ones!) through being both challenged by our educational programmes and supported by our school community.  Always conscious of the fact that they will have a life beyond TBSC, we have a strong focus on academic results, while, at the same time inculcating in our students an expansive view of the world that is informed by compassion and empathy, as well as an assured commitment to justice and a confidence that inspires courage.

Our staff consists of educators who are dedicated to ensuring excellence in all that we do, whether in the classroom or beyond it, and, crucially, are role models who daily exemplify the value of education in its widest sense and in its diverse manifestations.

No matter how long they will be with us, whether it be from three years old to eighteen and the rite of passage of graduation, or whether it is one chapter or home amongst many others in a child’s life, memories of The British School Caracas and its influence on enriching our students’ futures will be indelible and enduring.

Welcome to The British School Caracas!
