Located in Altamira, Caracas, The British School Caracas is a not for profit educational establishment and one of the foremost British and International Schools in Latin America, providing high quality international education to both the national and international community.
Founded in 1950 the school has grown from strength to strenght, with a steady enrollment of 300 children from Preschool to Year 13 (IB Diploma Programme). TBSC offers a quality international education focussed not only on the academic development of a child but also their personal development. All staff members have significant English National Curriculum, IPC, IGCSE and IB experience and are recruited from the U.K, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, USA, EU and Venezuela.
TBSC’s day-to-day activities are overseen by the Head of School who is responsible for all operational activities and ensuring the strategic goals are achieved. These strategic goals are set by the Board (governing body). The Board consists of 14 TBSC parents who volunteer to help the school and are nominated every two years.
TBSC also has a very active Parent-Teacher Association. Voted in every two years, this is a group of volunteer parents whose main goal is to bring our community together. Some events that take place include the Christmas Bazaar, Spring Fayre, Halloween and others that they deem necessary.
Careers Guidance
TBSC has a strong careers guidance programme supported by a one-to-one careers counsellor to support students as they transition to higher education. Upon graduation 100% of our graduates go on to attend 4-year institutions at both competitive and highly selective universities and colleges around the world!.
